Davide Viaggi

Davide Viaggi was born in Bologna, 14 october 1967. Studied at the University of Bologna, Aberdeen, Oxford, at ENSAR (Rennes) and got the PhD in 1997, at the University of Siena.

He is currently Professor at the Department of Agriculture and Food Science at the University of Bologna, teaching courses in Agricultural Economics, Rural appraisal, Environmental economics, Policy evaluation.

Participated in a number of research projects funded by several institutions. These include more than 20 project funded by the European Union, 3 of which were coordinated by Davide (CAP-IRE and CLAIM in FP7, PROVIDE in H2020).

The main research themes concern the common agricultural policy (CAP), the Bioeconomy, the economics and management of water resources and the evaluation of agri-environmental policies. The results have been presented in about 300 publications.

Davide was Editor-in-chief of the journal Bio-based and Applied Economics.

He is currently president of the Italian Association of Agricultural and Applied Economics and is member of the main national and international associations in the sector of agricultural economics and environmental economics.

Davide also enjoys poetry; you may find some of his book around, but in Italian only.
