My father prepared his autobiography back in 1992, among other writing projects. When he died in 2001, the manuscript came to us kids, and sat on our personal book shelves. After my brother Joe Friedman died this year, 2018, I became the patriarch of the Friedman Family and I decided my father's autobiography needed to be shared with the public. Dad wrote about so many great people and stories, many of course have families who would enjoy reading this book, with their family names referenced in his autobiography.
Dad wrote well over 350 scientific research studies which are quite complicated to read, but his books, including: "Medicine's 10 Greatest Discoveries" were written in language which could be easily read and understood.
I think his autobiography was a fun project for him to put together. My favorite parts of the book are about the antics of his superior officers including, and especially Colonel Bradfield Smock. His book ends with some very touching memories of his deceased three-and-a-half-year old daughter along with her dog.....
"Thus, I can chuckle at the tender, loving way my three-and-half-year old daughter hugged our wire-haired terrier. Even though both she and the dog have passed away over 40 years ago, both remain hauntingly unchanged in my memory. They both seem to be waiting for me." pg. 527
