Tera Hatfield is a design director and writer living in Portland, Oregon. She has a background in visual design and architecture. A PNW native, she grew up on Puget Sound in Bremerton, Washington, home to monolithic battleships and forever-roving cranes. Along the way, she amassed strange credentials from Vassar College and the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington. Her curiosity and creative superpowers lie at the intersection of human-centered digital and physical design. Her work is diverse, spanning the design and fabrication of mobile products, augmented realities (AR/VR), environments, and, yes, even robots. She’s won national architecture awards and, in general, is fond of prototypes, A-frames, Bucky Fuller, and f-bombs.
