The old saying goes, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as i could." Born in South Carolina and graduating from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, qualifies as a true son of that great state, but when it was finally time to retire for good, the call of Texas was too strong. Of course, that might have had a lot to do with my wife Deb and I wanting to be within driving distance of our daughter and our only granddaughter! Could be, but who knows?

I proudly served this great nation in the United States Army for 20 years, getting to lead some of the greatest men ever to get into an M-1 Abrams tank. These great soldiers and the men and women who support them are the backbone of our nation. But all good things come to an end and I had to quit "playing Army" as my wife teased me often. I had the great blessing of serving in South Carolina state government in its alcohol and drug abuse agency, then managing a great medical practice. Finally, though, I found my new home in church administration at North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. In 2015, I finally retired from there and swore to one and all that this time I would get this retirement thing right. Finally, I have the time to do what I love ... woodworking and writing.

I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Let me know what you think!
