John C. Bruening

John C. Bruening is the author of the MIDNIGHT GUARDIAN series (published by Flinch Books), a multi-part noir adventure reminiscent of the classic pulp fiction of the 1930s and 1940s. He has also conjured numerous short stories, essays and other dispatches from the various corners of a restless mind and an active imagination.

He has been a professional writer and editor since the 1980s in a variety of disciplines: journalism, magazine editing, marketing, advertising and small-press book editing. He has won two awards for feature writing (2000 and 2011) from the Society of Professional Journalists. He is a co-founder and editor for Ohio-based Flinch Books, and the editor-in-chief of ARC Magazine, a publication covering the welding and fabrication culture.

He lives in Cleveland, Ohio, with his wife and two children.
