About Don (D. A.) Carey

Don (D. A.) Carey is an Army Veteran that comes from a long line of Army veterans on both sides of the family. After moving around a lot and finally settling in Kentucky as a kid, he grew up with a step-family of Kentucky do-it-yourself country people who made the discussion of history and “Foxfire” skills a regular part of dinner conversation, giving a perspective that not everyone has. He enjoys sharing family stories with his readers and followers.

Most of the locations in his books are real and he’s been to them personally. Don has a day job in the white-collar world of technology leadership and still manages to make time to hunt, ride horses, hike, and camp. One of the highlights of the year for him is an annual trip into the woods of Tennessee (Big South Fork – Charit Creek) on horseback for several days with 10-15 men carrying only what can be fit in the saddlebags.

Feel free to follow him on social media (Author D.A. Carey on Facebook) for closer look at the annual trip to Charit Creek and more.

(A word from Don)

If you enjoyed one of my books, I’d be very appreciative if you’d take a moment to write a short review and post it on Amazon. A few words are all it takes.

Amazon uses a complex formula to determine what books are recommended to readers or show up in the search functions. How many books sell are only one small part of the formula. The quantity of reviews are also an important factor.

Also, don’t forget…I choose to write in this genre for you all! I like that people enjoy these stories and who can share my vision. I like the interaction on social media and when we meet at public events. Please feel free to reach out to me on Facebook at Author D. A. Carey or on my website, WWW.DACarey.com . There is a blue sign-up button on my webpage for my newsletter that I send out sparingly. It will have information about upcoming books, events and giveaways that I hope you’ll enjoy. I can be e-mailed at DACarey@DACarey.com.
