I am a happily married mom, a Scout, a blogger, an American, and a writer. I started writing for the 1632 Universe based on Eric Flint's novel "1632" in 2021. I have stories in the online magazine "Grantville Gazette" (issues 95 and 96) and the books "Mrs. Flannery's Flowers" and "Gourmets of Grantville". Rather than being serials or episodic, I think of these books as more like "onions" with layers of characters being revealed in each book. So far, most of what I am writing starts in or near 1631 and continues through the mid 1630's. Each story focuses on different characters and parts of their stories, and introduces new people, but you will definitely find a lot of crossover among my stories - and also from my stories to other stories in the 1632 universe. (The housing fire in the first book? That's from Wood Hughes' "Hell Fighters" in Gazette III. Marge Beich, the unsatisfactory housekeeper in "Gourmets of Grantville"? She's from "The Barbie Consortium" by Paula Goodlett and Gorg Huff.)
I'm having a blast writing these stories and have two more already roughly outlined in my head, with over 25,000 words written on them. So, please buy my books and then follow me to see what happens next in the story!
My other books are things I would like to buy but can't find, resulting in an eclectic selection. Two books are on popular topics, wedding planning, and the US Constitution, but different takes than I could find. The Organized Wedding focuses more on the ceremony than other books. The OS for the US is non-partisan (question sets all include questions on a spectrum from right to left to help remove partisanship) and have few legal references because some books on the US Constitution made me feel like they were trying to prep someone for arguing a case in front of the Supreme Court.
But most of them are on Scouting or emergency preparedness. I love to be outside. I love camping and Scouts and all it stands for. I have written over 100 blog posts on emergency preparedness.
Finally, I have a short series of zombie books. My emergency preparedness and Scout knowledge informs my zombie books. The main hero(ine) is never described so readers can imagine themselves in that position - boys or girls. And while it is a real zombie series with lots of fighting the undead, there are no gory descriptions of the fights so even younger kids or those who hate reading gore can enjoy a good undead yarn.
Thanks for reading this much and I hope you enjoy my books!
