Laurie Block is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with greater than 25 years of experience providing evidenced - based medical nutrition therapy to diverse populations of all age groups.
Currently consulting at Weill Cornell Medicine her background is in diabetes prevention and management. She is known to collaboate with interdisciplinary teams that help improve clinical outcomes in both Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D) diabetes.
Laurie is actively involved with nonprofit organizations that promote diabetes awareness and support initiatives across the United States and internationally.
She has a stong commitement to community health, health equity, and the behavioral factors that influence food choices.
The recent publication of the Type 1 Diabetes Handbook provides up -to -date information on new insulin delivery systems, continuous glucose monitoring, artificial intelligence, treatments for hypoglycemia and the many lifestyle factors including nutrition/diet and exercise that help manage glucose levels and improve A1 C levels and percent time in range.
