Ralph van Roosmalen lives in the Netherlands, where he studied computer science at the polytechnic university in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and graduated in 1997. He started his career working as a software developer for software product development companies. In the early 2000s, he realized working with people and helping to improve processes would give him greater gratification than creating software products. Over time, as he gradually switched to management, his satisfaction soared.
Ralph worked as an Agile coach, development manager, Scrum Master, test manager, and team lead during the early 2000s. He was one of the drivers in setting up a large-scale distributed Scrum product development process in a Dutch ISV in the early aughts. He has worked with teams from the United States, India, the Netherlands, and Romania.
In 2015, he founded his own company, Agile Strides, to help people and organizations take the next step in creating more happiness at work. He has helped many teams and organizations—supporting and teaching them to inspect and adapt frequently. Ralph actively contributes to the Agile community, sharing his insights and knowledge by speaking at conferences, TEDx, and writing blog posts.
In 2017, Ralph published the book Doing It—Management 3.0 Experiences. In 2019, he published his second book, 40+ Ideas to Spice up Your Retrospective.
