Laura Stanton

Laura Stanton is an award-winning artist who specializes in infographics, having spent more than two decades on the staffs of The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune and the Dallas Morning News. Her work was featured in "The Best American Infographics 2015". She produces engaging and explanatory images from sometimes knotty information, having tackled federal budgets, investigatory reports and world emergencies. While helping readers penetrate the thick and serious, Laura also displays a touch for fun and whimsy.

She and her husband, David LaGesse, collaborate to bring words and images together at LaVidaCo Communications. She also teaches Information Graphics at the University of Missouri Journalism School. She has a soft spot in her heart for "word people"--she's married to one--and believes everyone has the ability to tap into their visual storytelling superpowers.
