CLARA FREEMAN was raised in a Victorian cottage in Chicago which her great-grandparents bought after escaping The Great Chicago Fire. A graduate of the University of Tulsa and NYU, Clara taught at the City University of New York for many years. She is also a world traveler who spent time at an ashram in South India. Since 1976, Clara has lived in a Brooklyn brownstone and still keeps it together with duct tape and Crazy Glue.
