Kyle is a huge fan of the fantasy world, whatever shade they may come in! His interests were first seriously peeked by books like Wizards First Rule and The Dragonbone Chair, but he also quickly fell in love with more urban and romance style features like the Dresden Files and Dark-Hunter books. From a young age through the 5th grade it was believed that Kyle had a reading deficiency, he was even in special classes to help him improve this skill. Turns out, he just hadn’t found an interest in reading yet. That all changed when he picked up Wizards First Rule in 6th grade. While it may have been far above his reading level, it unlocked a whole new world for him. It did not take Kyle long to move from purely reading about fantasy worlds to creating his own. It has been his undying passion and hobby ever since. Long hours and hundreds of thousands of words have helped him not only develop his talent, but his voice as an author. Grammar has always been a bit of a challenge for him, yet he continues to improve his weaknesses through perseverance and experience.
From Jr. High on through High School and College Kyle dedicated any openings he had to creative writing classes. Yet, more than anything, time has been his greatest teacher. Kyle started writing stories at a young age with high hopes. Time and experience have taken those 6 or 7 hand written pages and transformed them into something special. As a sophomore in high school, Kyle completed his first manuscript. At a surprising 102,666 words it was a large accomplishment for him. His 10th grade English teacher thought so as well. She spent that summer reviewing and editing it for him. That feedback, more than any class, truly helped Kyle develop his writing style and voice. He will never be able to thank her enough. While a lot of things have happened since that first manuscript, a manuscript that Kyle does intend to one day rewrite, his love for telling the stories of others has never wavered. Now, he wants to share those stories with all of you.
