About the Author
From his earliest memories, Steve Bishop was brought up
in a sleepy Cotswold village, where a number of houses did
not even have electricity in the 1960s, and the pace of life
was slower than a snail. He went on to live in some of the UKs
largest and vibrant cities including long stints of working in London. As
a result, he has a very good understanding of both the urban
environment and the countryside.
He spent a life time career in consultancy for over 40
years, working with some of the world’s largest companies,
both in the board room and on the shop floor, dealing with
many difficult and politically incorrect clients.
He has travelled the world to over 60 countries, mainly
as an independent traveler, including some very remote
places and some of the world’s most beautiful cities. But
also, some of the largest and most polluted, getting out on
the street seeing how different cultures and people operate
and some of the things they get up to.
From his early years, he has always had an inquisitive
and observant mind of knowing what is going on around
him, from the local village politics and the pariahs on the
parish council to international corporate board rooms and
challenging delivery of complex IT programmes. His no
nonsense approach and questioning people and the
necessity of breaking some of the rules has served him in good stead
of knowing WHY? and what to ignore in getting the best
out of people and getting things done
