Deborah P Hall

I have written since I was a child, everything from fiction to poetry to history. I have sold poems and articles, including one on full siblings to the Triple Crown winners published in Blood Horse Magazine. My first full-length published book was a privately commissioned history. The title was A Goodly Heritage, but it was a limited run and probably difficult to find on the internet.

My second book, C-Sharp Minor, is the unfortunately true story of my mother's 17-year illness with Alzheimer's-type dementia, going through all the ups and downs of her course. Dark days are not glossed over, but there are also lighter anecdotes, and there is an entire chapter on humor. 10% of proceeds from this book go to the Alzheimer's Association.

The third book, The Cats Locked Me in the Well House, is a lighthearted frisk, lots of humor, and, of course, plenty of cats. 10% of proceeds from this book go to Eden Animal Haven.

The fourth book is now out for Christmas 2025. Rascal's Christmas Gift is a neat twist on the usual "animal at the nativity" story lines, as the cat is definitely not happy initially when she returns home to find her hay bed occupied. This book features gorgeous, hand-drawn illustrations from Rhonda Weisser.

When not writing or out on a shift as a home health aide, I usually can be found at music rehearsals, working outside around the farm, reading a book, or petting my cats.
