For his contributions, he received several awards and was inducted to the Clinical Engineering Hall of Fame by the American College of Clinical Engineering in 2017. He earned a Doctor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is a Certified Clinical Engineer.
