Nicole S. Mason

Dr. Nicole Mason is a native Washingtonian. She is a servant, following the teaching and example of her grandmother, Edna Mae Maynard, who was a business owner in Ward 6 for more than 50 years. Dr. Nicole watched her grandmother help others in her community, especially during the crack epidemic. Her grandmother provided a safe space for the children in the neighborhood.

Dr. Nicole wanted to be an attorney from the age of 9. She accomplished that goal by graduating from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. She is a passionate attorney with a federal government career that spans more than 25 years.

In addition to Dr. Nicole’s trailblazing career, she is an international best-selling author. Dr. Nicole has helped more than 65 men and women to share their stories, many of them first time authors. Her first book anthology was recognized as Book Anthology of the Year by Black Enterprise Magazine and Indie Authors Legacy Award.

She is the recipient of the 2018 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Award and has been a contributing author in more than 40 books including the renowned Chicken Soup for the SoulŪ Book Series.
