Roy E. Staggs

Roy E. Staggs was born in a small town in South Texas. Small town life was simple and slow paced. At the age of fourteen, his family moved to the suburbs of Dallas where he graduated from High School. Although he wanted to attend college, he nor his family could not afford the expense so he went to work for a small city and began a career in the Water Utility Industry. Fifteen years out of high school, he attended Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas. The stress of extended work hours, and stress at home, he was forced dropped out of the University, due to burn out. He moved to West Texas where he closed out a forty year career with municipal government.

After retirement, he decided to write a book about his dad's wartime experiences and how it affected their family life. The book, "Tilly's War", tells the story but not the whole story. He is now working on a crime mystery and hope to have it ready for publication in 2019.
