Charissa Dunn

Charissa Dunn, a retired Assistant Professor of Education for Oklahoma Wesleyan University, was honored to instruct students at the junior high school, high school, and university levels for 38 years. During that time, she supervised and worked directly with more than 350 student teachers. Charissa is a representative of the fourth generation of educators in the Dunn and Glenn families, who have collectively accumulated over 950 years of teaching experience.

She was privileged to grow up in a pastor’s home that emphasized the study of Scripture. During her time at OKWU, that emphasis has led to the God-directed development of various aspects of “teaching Christianly” and “Jesus, The Master Teacher” for studies and discussions with student teachers, many of whom commented on their new perspectives on Scripture and teaching.

In her spare time, Charissa enjoys tatting, reading, sewing, quilling, and many other handicrafts. Although she has lived in Oklahoma most of her life, she still misses the deserts, mountains, sunsets, and lack of humidity in Arizona where she was raised.
