Gregory Guthrie

Greg Guthrie was born in Thomas, Oklahoma in 1955. He grew up in Tulsa, and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1981. After working in the Petroleum Industry, he moved to Washington, DC in 1986, where his mother, Helen Guthrie was serving in the White House, at the pleasure of President Ronald Reagan. He has worked at the Commerce Department, the World Bank, the Library of Congress. Mr. Guthrie attained a Masters Degree from Georgetown University in 2002.

His thesis entitled "Labor Unions : Champions of Social Justice," was published as a book in 2010.

He and a team of co-workers received the United States Department of Commerce Silver Medal Award for Meritorious Federal Service in 2014.

He ran for General President of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) in 2008, and is President of NFFE Local 1627.

He is a member of the Catholic Labor Network.

He is employeed by the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
