Devashish Shrivastava

Dr. Shrivastava received his PhD in the field of Bioheat Transfer from the University of Utah in 2005. He works for the US FDA, has served as the chair of the ISMRM MR Safety Study Group, and has represented the US in several international standardization committees dealing with tissue heating due to various medical applications. Dr. Shrivastava co-owns In Vivo Temperatures, LLC, a small startup, as well. His bioheat transfer model, Generic Bioheat Transfer Model or GBHTM, is one of the most comprehensive, first principles based, validated (using over 100 human-sized swine exposed to local as well as systemic heat load) bioheat transfer model available to date, to predict tissue heating in vivo. The model has been used by him and his collaborators to successfully predict tissue heating in medical, occupational, and recreational applications, and is made freely available with the book for everyone to use. For questions on how to use this model for your application and for feedback regarding how to improve the model, please email to devashish.shrivastava@gmail.com with the subject 'GBHTM and Bioheat Book'.
