Jack Fitzgerald

Jack Fitzgerald was sworn in as a Probationary Police Officer on April 3rd, 1968. That class became well known as "The Infamous class of April 3rd 1968." 691 of the most poorly trained police officers ever to wear the NYPD blue uniform.

During his twenty six years "On the job" he made and assisted with over two thousand arrests. He has received 31 department recognitions, including the Michael Delehanty Medal for Valor. He has also received the Greenpoint Lions Club Cop of the Year award and 7 additional community awards in recognition for exceptional service to those precincts where he was assigned.

He is currently enjoying retirement with his wife Susan.
