Welcome to my author page!
How our family heritage affects decisions we make in the present fascinates me. I was raised in a family with diverse world views, and rich in Southern storytelling traditions that captured my imagination and fed my wanderlust. I’ve lived in all regions of the continental United States and in South America. My husband and I now live on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State.
My debut novel, Exiled South, is the story of a twentieth first century woman's international roots trip that sparks a reckoning with Civil War era family secrets. visit https://www.harrietcannon.com
My thirty year career as a psychotherapist with a cross cultural specialty gave me a deep appreciation for the diversity and creativity of the human spirit. I worked for the US State Department in Chile, consulted to international schools and to multinational companies likeThe Boeing Company. The desire to share stories and insight led to the self help book, Mixed Blessings: A Guide to Multicultural and Multiethnic Relationships, co-authored with my colleague Rhoda Berlin.
