Kara B. Imle, (1973-present), was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and raised in rural Alaska. She started writing as soon as she could pick up a pencil, stories of wolves and dragons and girl-warriors flowing onto the page. Kara holds a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Puget Sound. She was the creative power behind The Secret Universe of Names: The Dynamic Interplay of Names and Destiny by Roy Feinson (Overlook-Duckworth, 2004). She lived in Africa for seven months as a grant-writer and has traveled throughout the world, rendering her adventures into memoir and poetry. Most recently she has completed a manuscript about her experiences with trauma, a dragon called Nameless, and her Alaskan childhood called The Dragon in the Doorway: A Memoir.
