James A. Maxwell

James Maxwell (born 1976) is a secondary school teacher with 20 years experience, and current Principal of Carrickfergus Grammar School in Northern Ireland. His interests lie in educational research, school improvement and leadership, and the teaching of Modern Foreign Languages. In 2005 he won the UK German Teacher Award from the German Embassy in London. In 2005-2006 he was seconded to the Northern Ireland Curriculum team to write the Key Stage 3 Modern Languages curriculum for Northern Ireland. James has worked with the BBC on the development of their educational resources and he presents regularly at regional conferences, including on Modern Languages education, school improvement, assessment, curriculum design and leadership.
