John H. MacDonald

My name is John H. MacDonald. I began my writing carreer after recovering from a motorcycle accident and a comatose period which I don't remember. I really don't know what instigated this form of endeavor. There was a lady who instructed a jewelry class, which I took to improve my hand dexterity and I wanted to impress her, so I wrote The Flower. The next thing I knew I had produced a children's book, Childsplay in Poetry. This one was completed in six days, I just couldn't stop. Before this writing thing, I was owner, operator of a construction company. I climbed ladders on builders new homes six to seven days a week, what ever it took. All of a sudden I felt compelled to write poetry. I am fascinated with the form in any context and use words I haven't used since high school. I have written and somehow got published twelve books. The first few were a learning process, nothing really substantial or very good. Gradually I have improved and found the way to get my messages across. I used to read constantly. Now there are very few days that go by without my writing something new. The compulsion is there from dawn to dark and I enjoy every moment.
