Diane Harrison

Diane Harrison aka Sweet Pea lives on the central coast in California. It is so magical, and she is so grateful for this beautiful place. She was born in Kansas City , Missouri. Her family moved to California in 1966. She feels like a California native. She received a bachelors degree in Ornamental Horticulture, and spent most of her life doing landscape maintenance. She loves to grow Spring flowers. Her goal is to become a successful author/illustrator.

She has a personal experience with each of her books. She is a gardener for a living, so she loved creating her book "Is This the Place to Bee?" She actually asked that question when she went out to collect some Lavender!

She was inspired by a little girl to create her book "Amazing Grace", but as time passed she was inspired by the help she was giving to friends.

It didn't take long to create her book "How to Love a Dog". she had adopted a dog from the local shelter, and the dog Penny was the inspiration for the book and the star.

She has always wanted to create an ABC book, and using cats was the perfect subject.

Jack's Tractors and Trucks was inspired by her grand nephew, Jack, who loves tractors and trucks.

Count me a Bouquet is a true story. A little girl named Evie lived across the street and her family moved. She had always wanted to do a numbers book, and Evie gave her that inspiration.

She loves that her books can be enjoyed at every age. She takes her time creating her ideas; there is no rush. She looks forward to the time she gets to spend writing, drawing, or painting. Sometimes the desire to create is overwhelming and she sits down and it all spills out. She loves the fact that she can create just about anywhere. The beach, the river, the camp spot, or just out walking.

She makes the books for herself and if someone else enjoys them, She is happy.
