Geoffrey D Dabelko

Geoff Dabelko is a Professor and Associate Dean at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University. He is senior advisor to the Environmental Change and Security Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center where he served as program director from 1997-2012. Geoff was a Lead Author of the "Human Security" chapter in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 5th Assessment. Geoff is a member of the UN Environment's Expert Advisory Group on Environment, Conflict, and Peacebuilding. He is co-editor with Ken Conca of Environmental Peacemaking and Green Planet Blues: Critical Perspectives on Global Environmental Politics (6th ed 2019) and Environmental Peacemaking. Along with Ken, Geoff received the 2017 Al Moumin Award on Environmental Peacebuilding. He holds a PhD in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park and AB in political science from Duke University. He lives in his hometown, Athens, Ohio with his wife and three children.
