Bee Monarch lives an eclectic life focused on pursuits as seemingly different as investment and insight meditation. She's been passionate about both since the mid-1990s and has been learning to lighten the boundaries between the stock market and the monastery, so to speak. Her co-author and cat, Mett, has played a significant role in drawing the two boats together to bring the spiritual into the mundane.
Mett was part Siamese, part naughty, part angel and 100 percent special. He was an exacting teacher to Monarch during the years he was alive, from 2003 to 2017. Since kittenhood, he exhibited a single-mindedness to help her; even to casual observers, Mett appeared to be "more than a cat". He seemed to have an urgent purpose to be alive. Having succeeded at reshaping Monarch's life, their book To Tame a Human: A Dying Cat Taught Me How to Live is a gift to others who seek transformation, transcendence, and hope amid difficulty.
Mett's voice and life lessons live on beyond To Tame a Human, in the form of a blog. Readers ask him questions and receive answers that help them think out of the human skin (a twist on thinking out of the box).
