John P. Bridge

John has already completed forty years in India (1978-2018). He was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England and lived with his mother Mary and younger brother Paul. He was educated at the local Secondary School. At an early age he pinned up pictures of children from India and prayed for them. He baked and sold cakes in order to support them; collected stamps and had stalls in the market just to raise money for the poor children.

When he was twenty he embraced the protestant faith. From that time he understood he was called to help Indian children. He joined OM in Belgium while he waited for his calling. When it came he set off on foot for India where he serves today in Odisha; running a children’s home.

In 1983, John married Della Gerson, a Tamil Indian. They have four children, Christine, Maranatha, Samuel and Charity Joy. In 1992 the Indian Government granted John Indian Citizenship. John’s testimony is written in his book “He Walked to India.” His society runs a girl’s home of eight hundred; Day Care Centres and schools throughout Odisha.

John completed his education by extension. In 1996, he completed his Master of Divinity degree at New Covenant International Seminary in New Zealand. He studied all the teachings of the main denominations and then steered towards the Charismatic, Kingdom teaching. His search for knowledge continues till this day.

In 2006, John completed his PhD Biblical Studies with the New Covenant International University, Lake Worth, Florida, USA. His thesis on the Book of Revelation took seven years of research. Its implications moved John to pursue the supernatural power and glory of God. His books “He walks in Heavenly Places” and “Glory” are a reflection of where John is. John is considered a mystic by his friends. He is loved by his Odisha students who stay in constant fellowship with him. You also will fall in love with this humble servant of God and possibly be challenged as you read his books.
