I am a retired nuclear engineer that has been playing duplicate bridge since the 70s. I started playing bridge while I was in the Navy during the Viet Nam war.
I have always played some version of Precision and have tinkered with the system repeatedly over the years. Robert Danielson created "Relay Precision," which created the 20+ HCP 1H relay to restore the limited nature of the opening bids to rebids after 1C-1D. But there were no significant advancements to the sequences that began with other openings or even those with positive responses to 1C.
Pattern Precision - my previous book - implemented many of the characteristics of Relay Precision into nearly every bidding sequence. But many people believe that the major flaw with Precision was the inability to show 4-card Major Suits in positive responses to 1C. P4TTERN PRECISION corrects that deficiency. In addition, this text contains innovative two-level opening bids in coordination with the "New NT," designed to be a "Self-Rescuing Kamikaze NT."
