C.J. Persson (Johan, when he’s not being pretentious) was born and raised in the south of Sweden, where he still lives with his girlfriend and their two children. He was introduced to fantasy at age six when his older brother brought home a Warhammer box filled with miniatures and rulebooks. This resulted in his first English words being things like blunderbuss, plasma rifle and lizardmen. Since then he’s increased his vocabulary somewhat. These words, combined with the stories of the Norse gods that he grew up with, resulted in his Alice Andersson trilogy. Johan sometimes writes about himself in the third person since it makes it easier to write “about the author” sections.
