Retired educator Pat McDonald is a life-long admirer of two very different things: Pennsylvania and the written word. As both a student and teacher of writing and literature, he began this novel right out of college, about forty years ago, banging it out on his Underwood typewriter. This evocative tale has been in revision mode ever since, from erasable bond, through floppy disk, thumb drive, and now the cloud. The time span between conception and completion proves simply that putting a deadline on a dream can be self-defeating. As the author explains, “I believe most people spend their lives looking for something; I hope that, along the way, one of the things they find is themselves.” He adds, “If you treat your life as a story, there is a good chance you can become one.”
