Dr. Vanessa Ewing received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Individual Differences in Cognition, as well as Master's degrees in School Counseling, Special Education, and Curriculum and Instruction. Over the last 20 years, she has served as a principal, preschool—middle school teacher, school counselor, and academic advisor for children. Vanessa designed and coordinated an online Master’s Degree program for teachers at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, leading to licensure in gifted education. Her passions include developing academic and social plans for young children, supporting 'at risk' students, gifted and twice exceptional students, and helping to support student creativity and areas of passion. She serves as a Gifted Coordinator for Charter Schools, and teaches psychology and education courses to adult learners and teachers in training at several local universities and community colleges.
When not immersed in the field of child development, giftedness, and the creativity/play, Vanessa enjoys volunteering, playing with her son, reading, painting, writing, and traveling.
