Dan Zeman

Dan Zeman is an exercise physiologist with extensive experience in health, fitness, and sports medicine. He has designed exercise programs for professional athletes in the National Hockey League, National Football League including the Minnesota Vikings, National Basketball Association including the Minnesota Timberwolves and three‑time Tour de France winner, cyclist Greg LeMond.

But Zeman’s real passion is working with aging Americans, and this book is the result of a three‑decade career working with individuals of all ages and fitness levels. He holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of North Texas.

He began working in a clinical setting with heart attack survivors and people with diabetes.

During his career, he has conducted an array of research involving the aerobic capacities of wheelchair athletes, a comparison study of today’s child to different types of free play and a seven‑year longitudinal study comparing the fitness levels of AAU girls’ basketball players.

He also provides expertise for computer software firms that design health and fitness packages for hospitals, fitness centers, and corporate wellness centers.
