I have so far written five books, all of which deal with a crime of one type or another, though the way they are explored in each book varies greatly. As the styles range from that of the simple ‘whodunnit’, to that of understanding the psychological motivations of the culprits themselves as they each commit their crimes that may range from the almost mundane to that of mass murder.
Like for instance the first book I wrote called ‘The Glass Partition’ describes in an almost surreal fashion, how a young man in a humdrum job gradually manages to convince himself that the money he is skimming off the top whilst doing his job is not a crime.
I then continued the theme of employment and working in an office environment in my next book ‘When push comes to shove’. As I felt it worked well as a backdrop to the main theme of the story, which was that of bullying and violence and how they can both be a means to an end.
The third book I wrote and also illustrated is a more fantastical story that revolves around the murderous antics of an elitist club, whose membership is made up entirely of people who have all somehow managed to survive suicide pacts; and the bizarre politics, morals and rituals of such a group. Whilst my other short story called ‘The Critic’, deals with a privileged character who is so hypocritical and vain, that he actually manages to convince himself that his own requirements and desires far outweigh the basic fundamental rights of those he one viewed as his friends and even his lover. Whereas for my latest book ‘Harry D’Lacey’, the main character couldn’t be more different. As he is a likeable private detective who finds himself at the center of a murder inquiry where everyone is known to him and even he can see he has a stronger motive than most to have wished the victim dead. Not that he is going to let a little thing like that stop him from getting to the bottom of it all and proving his innocence, well that’s the plan at any rate.
