MARCELLA FRIEL is a mindful eating mentor and natural foods chef who helps health-conscious women love and forgive themselves, their food, and their figure.

Marcella leads retreats and workshops on mindful eating across the United States and works privately with clients from around the world.

Her writing can be found in Elephant Journal, Sivana East, The Tapping Solution Blog, Shambhala Times, and elsewhere. Her online course, "Lose Emotional & Physical Weight with Tapping," is a top-10 bestseller on DailyOM.

Marcella’s culinary career began in 1994, when she discovered an escape clause in the rat-race contract and left corporate America to cook for cloistered meditators at Gampo Abbey Buddhist monastery in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, under the guidance of Pema Chödrön.

From 1994 to 2013, Marcella cooked and taught at meditation retreat centers across North America, including Shambhala Mountain Center, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and elsewhere.

Marcella certified as a natural foods chef at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City in 1998 and taught healing culinary arts at Bauman College in Northern California from 2005 to 2013.

Known for her playful humor, laser-like insight, and deep kindness, Marcella's ability to guide women through their odyssey of healing comes directly from her own experience of healing the multiple complex traumas of her childhood, combined with more than 3 decades of Buddhist meditation practice, 20-plus years of 12-Step recovery, and nearly 10 years as a client and practitioner of Tapping (also called EFT), one of the most outstanding transformational tools ever created.

Marcella is certified in EFT through Tapping the Matrix Academy, founded and run by Rob Nelson in Santa Rosa, California.
