Cheryl Dougherty

Cheryl M. Dougherty was born and raised in Connecticut. After college, she relocated to East Central Florida, where she still resides with her husband, Ken. A retired middle school teacher, Cheryl divides her time between family, travel, and various volunteer activities. She recently started pursuing a lifelong dream of writing. She is a member of the Florida Writers Association. Her first published story,“ In the Cards” appears in the Amazon bestselling book, “How I Met My Other: True Love, True Stories”. Another submission, “A Goal and Control” is in “Along the Shore: Strategies for Dealing with Grief” which is also available on Amazon.The Florida Writers Association published her personal essay, “The Brush of Your Wing”, in their 2024 annual collection, Metamorphosis, also on Amazon. Several of her pieces are scheduled for publication in 2026. “Maddy’s Pen Pals”, a middle grade chapter book, is currently in revision.
