Noah Nathan grew up in the family restaurant business and then was in the pharmaceutical industry for over twenty years. In both, people were ingesting what they were given, so it needed to be right.

He was with Takeda Pharmaceuticals for fifteen years and during that time the company had one of their main drugs, Prevacid, which was bringing in $3 billion annually, lose its patent protection. Dexilant, which is in non-technical terms the right half of the Prevacid molecule, took over to fill the void. Dexilant was promoted and sampled for its 60mg dose where the 30mg dose was FDA approved. This is with an FDA Warning to use the lowest dose for the shortest duration of time due to the risk of bone fractures.

With this knowledge, he tried to do the right thing. After five years of legal battles, the fight was lost because the courts could not agree on what the legal interpretation of Rule 9(b) of the False Claims Act really means. Our country is literally split on this issue, four Circuit Courts interpreting it one way and four Circuit Courts another.

This is his first book and he has TWO important goals:

1) Make the public aware of a potential health risk associated with the drug Dexilant, and

2) Move for an amendment to the False Claims Act to clarify the law for the courts to interpret it the way President Abraham Lincoln intended when he signed it into law in 1863.
