Dr. Preston H. Edwards practiced family medicine in the Piedmont and mountains of Virginia and North Carolina for thirty five years. His practice included office work, adult and pediatric hospital care, student health, nursing homes, house calls, and work with hospice patients.
Since retiring, he has found great joy in writing, recapturing the sparkling moments of healing that occurred in his daily clinical endeavors as well as his personal life.
In his first book, The Advance of Healing, he shares many rewarding and heart warming stories with the reader. It gives insight into his development as a personal physician from the practical viewpoint of a family doctor. Physicians, nurses and patients, are all invited to read these stories. They bring MDs and other health care workers to the bedside and patients into a comfort zone of creative understanding.
Active evolution of writing will emerge from his home in the Virginia mountains. Novels, poetry collections, short stories are being developed.
