John Egan

John’s a survivor. He survived abuse, bullying, many near-death incidents, and a self-destructive stint that might have claimed anyone else. Somehow John maintained his positive outlook through it all.

Retired after a unique life full of adventures and challenges, John settled down to share some of his tales. John couples his sharp memory, keen sense of observation, and wry humor to enliven tales of the people, places, and experiences he’s encountered over his varied life.

John’s story-telling skills are notably on display in Taxi Cab Stories, his first published book. In this, he recounts episodes from when he drove a taxi in the late 1970s. The stories are a mixture of the hilarious, odd, insightful, and sorrowful; introducing the reader to such characters as Black Laurel and Hardy, Captain Quaalude, and Mr. Magoo.

John is completing an autobiographical series scheduled for release later in 2022. The series will be titled: A Life Lived Uniquely
