Raymond (Ray) K. Vann, Jr., is the author of "Killing: A Spiritual Discernment Guide for Law Enforcement" and "Death Notifications: Field Guide and Log Book."
Ray is a Doctor of Theology candidate at Pontifex University and earned his Master of Arts degree and Bachelor of Arts degree, both in theology, from Saint Joseph’s College.
Ray serves as a volunteer police chaplain for the Lufkin Police Department in Lufkin, Texas. He was ordained a permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tyler in 2007 and serves St. Patrick and St. Andrew parishes in Lufkin, Texas. Ray also owns a consulting firm and three other small businesses.
A proud father of three daughters, Mary, Nikki, and Kiahley, Ray praises God each day for the gift of his family, and especially for Fe, his wife of over 25 years.
Ray is available for speaking engagements, training sessions and consulting services regarding the topics of death notifications, preparing for use-of-deadly-force incidents and/or developing a healthy law enforcement chaplaincy program.
