Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson was raised in a military family and then served an Air Force career himself, retiring in 2011 as a colonel. In 2015, after four years of teaching at Foundation Christian Academy in Florida, he and his wife, Janet, began exploring the country and living full-time in their RV. They worked with the Sojourners, a group of mostly retired Christians who travel the country by RV and volunteer at small churches, children’s homes, and Bible camps. In 2025, after five years of living in Maryville, Tennessee and caring for Janet's parents, they moved to Chesterfield, Missouri to be closer to family. Steve and Janet consider their two sons, Jason and Kyle, to be two of their greatest blessings, and they're especially thankful for their three young grandchildren.

Steve completed a thru-hike of the 2,189.1-mile Appalachian Trail in 2016. His two books chronicling his journey, Sir Fob W. Pot’s Journey to Katahdin, Volumes 1 and 2, are available on Amazon, along with his other books.
