Shane Robinson was born in Ramsgate, Kent, in 1963. His interest in magic started at the young age of ten. He went on to become a professional magician under the stage name of ‘Zane’, performing at top venues around the world, including cruise liners such as the prestigious and world-famous QE2.
He has also appeared in two critically acclaimed movies, ‘Funny Bones’ and ‘Magicians’, performing magic. As well as still performing magic, he is also the owner of an Internet magic shop, selling magic tricks suitable for beginners all the way up to professional magicians, and is the creator of several magic trick products sold around the world.
He also regularly trades at various public events in the UK, selling beginner's magic tricks to delighted children and inspiring the next generation of magicians.
In December 2018, Shane Robinson published his first book of the trilogy series called 'The Amazing Fartzini: An incredible story about an incredible boy who found magic. It is an entertaining novel and beautifully illustrated magic book for children, filled with inspiration and advice on how to become more confident through performing magic!
In 2019, Shane published the sequel to 'The Amazing Fartzini' called 'The Amazing Fartzini II: The magical adventures of a boy wizard continue ...
In 2021, Shane published the last in the trilogy series called 'The Amazing Fartzini III: Finale.
All three books have received a tremendous and positive response.
In 2023, using the pen name of R. J. Robinson, Shane published his first adult action thriller called 'Kill Him, Mary!' He has since published 'A Thousand Years From Now: Thinking Can Get You Killed!', and is set to publish his latest novel, 'Shane the Cowboy', early in 2026. His adult novels are gritty, thought-provoking, and darkly humorous!
His latest children's story, published in 2025, is titled 'Jake and the Poisonous Tiger', which was inspired by a true story involving his son, Jake, when he was about seven years old. It's a chapter book for the under-tens and is beautifully illustrated throughout by the American graphic artist, Jason Moser.
Shane is happily married to Angela and has a son named Jake and a granddaughter named Holly.
