My name is Robert W. Bailor. I was born and raised in northwest Indiana but now live in central Ohio. I have advanced degrees from Loyola University of Chicago and the University of Dayton. These studies have allowed me to be a Philosophy Professor and a Mental Health/Chemical Dependency Counselor. In conjunction with this work I have written six books. Information on all six books can be found at my website: robertbailor.com.
All of my books are "thinking person" books. My first two, PASSION, LONGING & GOD and A MONTH of WONDERS are meant to intrigue the reader about relevant philosophical topics. My third book, CHEMICAL ADDICTION and FAMILY MEMBERS, is meant to help families of addicts/alcoholics survive and thrive in the face of family turmoil.
My next three books are novels that form a trilogy about FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. The narrative that runs throughout the three novels concerns Michael, a philosophy professor, who grapples with the truth of religious faith in the first novel, THROUGH FIRE TO FAITH, with his personal turmoil regarding good and evil in the second novel, THROUGH HORROR TO HOPE, and with the meaning of life and death in the third novel, THROUGH LOSS TO LOVE.
Thrilling insights and events abound in all three novels as Michael is confronted with alcoholism, guilt about the death of his family, and finding new love and forgiveness in the first novel; with mass murder, a crisis of faith and personal issues about the power of good and evil in the second novel, and with his fundamental take on life itself as he is confronted with a suicide attempt, an unsettling visit from his best friend, the birth of his son, the apparent conversion of his assailant, the distressing deaths of two other characters and opposing views on the meaning of life and death in the third novel. Michael’s personal odyssey finally reaches a conclusion in the third book with his sincere commitment to be a person whose life radiates faith, hope and love. Michael's journey is based on my personal journey, and I am excited to share it.
I am married and have three grown children plus three grandchildren.
