Winner of Maude's Award for Innovation in Alzheimer's Care - 'Supporting Care Partner'
Judith Levy graduated from Sargent College of Allied Health Professions, Boston University, as an Occupational Therapist and she completed her Masters Degree in Allied Health Education from Rutgers University.
Her work experience, of over 40 years, ran the gamut from pediatrics (cerebral palsy, birth defects with developmental delays, perceptual-motor difficulties, establishment of the OT program at a camp for children with learning disabilities), establishment of a hospital adult OT rehabilitation program (CVA, shoulder/arm/hand rehab, cognitive rehabilitation), work in a post-hospitalization home-based rehabilitation program, to educational as a local college OT guest lecturer, and finally teaching the OT component at a home health aide training program.
She wrote her book after her mothers diagnosis of Alzheimer's Dementia, an illness which lasted for almost 10 years. It was at this time that Mrs. Levy began speaking at caregiver training sessions and at Alzheimer's family support groups.
Since Covid and the problems caused with brain fog, this book has become even more relevant.
