Jordan Burk

Known affectionately as “That Koala Guy,” Jordan Burk is the heart and humor behind the Kelly and Kelso series—a children's book collection inspired by his late Uncle Kelly who had Down syndrome. For nearly 14 years, Jordan was Kelly’s caregiver and their bond became the foundation for stories that celebrate kindness, courage, and the beauty of differences.

What started as a book series has grown into Kelly and Friends, an animated show in development with top industry talent. The show is set to make history as the first in the United States to feature a lead character with Down syndrome. Jordan’s work has gained national recognition and his organization was named 2023 Organization of the Year by the National Down Syndrome Society.

Jordan travels to schools and events across the country, sharing messages of empathy and encouragement. His work has been featured at the George W. Bush Childhood Home, on Good Morning Texas, and in DFWchild and VOICE magazine in Australia. He also served as the keynote speaker at the 21 Dreams Down Syndrome Association Annual Picnic.

Through it all, Jordan remains focused on one mission: to honor Kelly’s legacy by helping kids see the value in themselves and others—one book, one classroom, one koala at a time.
