Tom Johnston

Rev. Dr. Thomas B. Johnston, Ph.D.is an Ordained Minister. Tom has been in pastoral ministry for thirty years and is currently serving as the Lead Pastor of The Trinity Life Community. Tom and his wife Cathy have started four churches in New Hampshire, and from within these churches have raised up more than 40 pastors into credentialed ministry, along with six more churches planted out of those congregations. Believing there is a great “harvest of souls” to be gathered, Tom & Cathy have focused their ministry on equipping and empowering God’s people for service – “The Harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” (Luke 10:2a)

Because of this Tom has a passionate commitment to the Body of Christ, which is expressed in his leading and caring for a local congregation as well as serving in regional, national and global contexts to see God’s people mature into the fullness of Christ. Formerly a denominational executive responsible for leader development, church re-development and church planting, Tom has served in a wide variety of leadership roles.

Tom’s national and global ministry expression comes through The Praxis Center for Church Development, of which he is the Co-Founder and Executive Director. Praxis works with pastors and denominational leaders from over 70 different denominations within the global Body of Christ. He is the co-author of four books with Rev. Mike Chong Perkinson, Co-Founder of Praxis, as well as a number of articles and more than twenty-five pastoral training resources. Tom, in partnership with Mike, is engaged through Praxis in developing training centers in Asia, Africa and North America, with a focus on equipping church planters and pastors from emerging generations. In addition, Tom is the co-founder of The Trivium Institute for Leader Development, where he serves as Co-President and Chief Educationist.

Tom has a passion for Jesus Christ, His Church and His mission of reaching the harvest. He seeks to lead people to greater personal and family wholeness in Christ and equipping them for effective Kingdom living and service through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through the leading and power of the Holy Spirit, Tom seeks to partner with the Father in leading the congregation under their care into God’s preferred future, seeing both health and fruit realized as a result – empowering them to love God with all they are, to love others and to make disciples.
