Cara Cobb

Cara Cobb (1952- ) was born to a Hungarian refugee and an American Jewish GI in Bavaria, Germany. Her diverse military upbringing culminated with her marriage at age 18 to a draftee stationed in Berlin, Germany. Little did she know that her in-laws were members, and leaders, of the Move, a religious organization/cult founded in South Florida.

Cara embraced Move doctrines and moved into community in 1978. We Walk on Water, her first book, relates her personal experiences in a Move community as the daughter-in-law of a highly regarded “father ministry” and wife of an elder.

She left community in 2009 to begin a new life in "the world."
