Alice Bowden

Alice Bowden was born in London, England but now lives in the South of France. Having worked as an editor in non-fiction publishing for most of her career, she went on to set up online publishing company Bowden & Brazil Ltd in 2018. They have created the Who the Hell is? series – books that explore the life, times and ideas of the world's greatest thinkers, deconstructing their key theories and presenting their ideas in a clear and understandable way for students and those interested in 'smart thinking'.

Having graduated from an MA program in Art History in 2015, Alice has written the first book in the Who the Hell is? series on Erwin Panofsky for the Art History section. She is currently researching Aby Warburg for her next book, as well as editing other titles in the series, which include intellectuals of Philosophy, Psychology, Politics and Feminism.
