John H. Williams

John was born in Hampshire and has now retired from his second career as a professional yachting Instructor and Examiner, with his own school in Tenerife. He retired from the Special Investigation Branch of the Royal Military Police in 1988, after a full and successful career which took him to many exciting locations including, West Berlin and West Germany during the Cold War, Northern Ireland during the ‘Troubles`, Cyprus and Belize.  Although he has investigated the complete range of criminal offences from Theft to Murder, he specialized in the misuse of drugs and surveillance. On his retirement from government service, he not only established his sailing school in Tenerife, but set up a successful Private Investigation Agency.

His first novel, ‘A Wolf in Berlin: Operation Red Comet’, is a historical-political thriller, which is set in West Berlin during the cold war.  John uses his experience as an Investigator to tell a story which accurately portrays the working practices of Military Police at a time when Investigators pitted their wits against the criminal fraternity without the aid of DNA testing, mobile phones and computers.

As an avid Fly Fisherman with a Summer home on the banks of the river Sella in Asturias, northern Spain, John saw the need for an in-depth fishing guide that would make it easier for newcomers to Asturias, to carry out their hobby. His 'Silver Fly Fisherman's Guide to Salmon, Trout and Sea Trout Fishing in Asturias, make it easy for fishermen to understand the rules for fishing in Asturias and to identify the forty one beats of the river Sella, and the rules applicable for each, using ninety-five illustrations, photographs and satellite images, as well as GPS coordinates. He is already researching the next fishing guide in the series.

John is already writing his next book in the ‘Wolf’ series 'Knights of the Black Sun', set in 1945 at Himmler’s Mystic Wewelsburg Castle, a secretive SS Order meets to induct a new candidate and to prepare plans to deceive the Allies into believing that Hitler died in his Fuhrer Bunker, and prepare for a New World Order after the war. 22 years later, Wolf discovers the plan which is well underway with student riots in Berlin and an armed faction of dissidents.
